LANGLEY, BC – January 15, 2026 – On the eve of its 100th anniversary and in the same year Canada prepares to host the FIFA World Cup, Langley United Soccer Association (LUSA) is set to make history. This Saturday, January 17, LUSA’s Men’s squad will discover their first-round opponent in the official draw for the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship.

The draw will be broadcast live nationwide on OneSoccer during the coverage of the Canadian Men’s National Team match against Guatemala. Live Show Coverage begins 6:00PM PT Kick off is at 7:00 PM PT.

A Centennial Milestone

Founded in 1926, LUSA is entering its Centennial Year with its greatest competitive achievement to date. After a successful debut in League1 BC, the club has earned its place among Canada’s elite, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with professional clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Canadian Premier League (CPL).

"Seeing the LUSA crest in the same pot as professional sides like Pacific FC and Vancouver FC is a testament to our players' dedication and our pathway's success. As we celebrate 100 years of soccer in Langley, we are showing our young players that the path from our local pitches to the national stage is real."

The Road to the Voyageurs Cup

LUSA enters the Western Draw Pot, meaning they could face regional professional rivals or fellow League1 qualifiers. The tournament follows a high-stakes, single-knockout format for the preliminary round, scheduled to take place between May 5–10, 2026.

The Western Pot Includes:

  • Langley United (L1BC)

  • Vancouver FC (CPL)

  • Pacific FC (CPL)

  • Cavalry FC (CPL)

  • Calgary Blizzard (L1A)
