100 YEARS of Langley Soccer Pride – And Now, a National Stage Derby!

Yesterday’s live TELUS Canadian Championship Draw has delivered a story straight out of a Langley dream: Langley United has been drawn against our very own Vancouver FC in the opening round of the 2026 TELUS Canadian Championship.
In our Centennial year, with Canada stepping onto the global stage as World Cup host, this all-Langley derby is a powerful reminder of what grassroots to pro truly looks like. From mini soccer to League1 BC champions to the national cup, the pathway runs right through our community.
Led by our Langley-grown captain Brody Thomas, a true LUSA graduate, our men will carry 100 years of local soccer history, effort, and belief into a national competition. This moment belongs to every player, coach, volunteer, and family who has worn the crest and built this club.
LUSA extends a heartfelt thank-you to Township of Langley Council and Mayor Eric Woodward for their vision and investment in youth sport and facilities like the upcoming Smith Athletic Park –Youth Soccer Campus, helping turn community dreams into real opportunities on the national stage.
An all-Langley clash in the TELUS Canadian Championship, hosted right here in the Township of Langley, is the perfect way to kick off our next 100 years.
Stay tuned for match details, and get ready to show what it means to be Langley proud.
