LUSA Honors National Day of Truth & Reconciliation

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Please note that LUSA will be running all regularly scheduled programming this coming Friday. We are encouraging everyone to wear orange shirts this week and especially Friday for any LUSA training. Wearing orange shirts for warm up if there are games Friday evening or over the weekend would also be a great way to honour Truth and Reconciliation. Coming together as a community through sport, we have an opportunity to honour this National day through building community, inclusion and the awareness of the importance of strong relationships moving forward.
